A Japanese porcelain vase of rounded shape with pronounced neck. Late Meiji period, before 1912. The hand-painted body depicts human figures against the mountain landscape with gilt accents. Hieroglyphical hallmark on the bottom. Satsuma ware is a type of Japanese pottery which originated in Satsuma Province, since the 19th century it was mainly produced for Western export and therefore elaborately decorated.
