An antique Roman gold plated finish over a pure silver Medusa head pendant. Circa: 1900 AD. The ware depicts a portrait of Medusa Gorgon on both sides. Medusa, also called Gorgo or the Gorgon, was one of the three Gorgons. Medusa is generally described as a woman with living snakes in place of hair.
