An American Baroque Revival gilded wall sconce by Edward Caldwell and Co., adorned with hand painted porcelain flowers and porcelain bobeches. Circa the 1930s. Marked with a C in a diamond Caldwell signature on the back side. E. F. Caldwell and Co. was one of Americas premier manufacturers of lighting fixtures and metalwork in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The companys affiliation with major architects, such as Stanford White, ensured their work appeared in the most prominent commissions, such the Carnegie and Frederick W.
