Lot 0164: ANTIQUE RUSSIAN KHRAPUNOV PORCELAIN CUP AND SAUCER
An antique Imperial Russian porcelain cup and saucer by Khrapunov Novogo factory. The teacup has a cylindrical shape, tapering slightly towards the bottom. Its predominantly white inside, while the outside is banded with the light blue. The blue band is adorned with painted flowers in shades of pink and green. The rim is decorated with a gilt lattice pattern. It features an unusual, stylized, almost angular white handle. It has an openwork lattice pedestal. The saucer is a matching light blue and white with gilt accents. Both pieces are marked on the underside with a blue ink Khrapunov factory mark. The porcelain of Ya. G. Khrapunov Novogo was famous for hand painted and colored coverings, detailed floral motifs and artful gilding.
