An antique Japanese lacquered wood five tiered box. Circa mid to late 19th century. The box consists of 5 tiers, each of which forms a separate storage drawer. The beautifully hand painted box is decorated with landscapes and still lifes in gold, silver and red tones on a black lacquered background. The inside of each drawer is painted red.
