A late 19th century French St Etienne bayonet, model 1879. Features a brass mounted hilt with shaped walnut grips hand carved with initials TK on one side and a symbol with three crossed lines on the other side and held by two steel rivets. Steel crossguard with sept forward curved quillon, T shaped steel blade dated roller impressed Mre dArmes de St. Etienne 9bre 1879. Complete in blacked steel tapered scabbard, with a ball finial.
